On completion of foundation training, from years two to four, you will transfer to site-based training with your employing company, working with industrial professionals developing your skills within the job role. You will carry out work activities such as maintenance, fault finding and learning the main activities as a technician in line with your Apprenticeship standards. Your employer representative and Waterside mentor will both help you develop your skills until you are ready for the End Point Assessment. Your Waterside mentor will review you every 6 weeks with your employing representative to check on progress of the apprenticeship and set targets for you to complete prior to the next review.
For apprentices on the 1-day model you will commence your site based training earlier by attending your employing company from the start attending site four days per week, however, you will attend college for your academic day one day per week.
